Hi, I'm Abby.
I founded GrayWorks after beginning to consult for a company and discovering how impactful my experience could be in improving recruiting functions. I'm passionate about helping organizations optimize everything from hiring processes and full-cycle recruiting to candidate experience and onboarding.
How I got here.
I've built my career across agency recruiting, the vendor and technology space, and training and development.
Throughout my career, I consistently heard from business owners and HR leaders who knew there were gaps in their recruiting but lacked the time or budget to address them. They needed a trusted partner, someone they could call on to step in and deliver when it mattered most.
"I work the way I'd want someone to work for my own company. Embedded, honest, and genuinely invested in who gets hired."
GrayWorks is a fractional recruiting partner that shows up like an internal teammate. I learn your business first, then shape the approach to fit. I sit in on your hiring manager syncs. I care about the hire six months after the offer is signed. I'm collaborative by default, not because it's a marketing line, but because anything else just doesn't work.
I'm based in the Greater Philadelphia area, and I work with clients across the US. Most of my engagements are fully remote, a few are hybrid, and I can be onsite if the opportunity presents itself.
Like a teammate, not a vendor.
I embed. I use your ATS, your email domain (or a clear alias), your Slack. Candidates talk to someone who represents your company, not an outside recruiter pitching three clients at once.
I stay honest. If a role is unfillable at the comp you're offering, you'll hear it in week one, not month three. If a hiring manager is the bottleneck, I'll say that too, kindly but clearly.
I build things you keep. Every JD, scorecard, interview guide, and process improvement stays with you. When my engagement ends, your hiring function is better than I found it.
I don't do placement fees. My incentive is you being happy with the work, not a commission on a signature. It changes everything about how I show up.
Let's see if we're a fit.
Send me a note and I'll take it from there. Bring your open roles, your hiring frustrations, your current plan, or none of the above.
